And since we make these every year during the holidays...
I submit the "Exploding Cranberry Cookies.
I start by infusing dried cranberries with whisky and Habanero powder.
I think the camera flash made the berries look weird. They didn't look like this at all.
I use Red Savina Habs so it packs a punch.
Then the cookie recipe gets mixed up and the "Crown Berries" get stirred in.
The cookies get baked and they look like this. When my wife makes em...
Such an innocent looking cookie. Till ya chew it up...
But since this is oven cooked I would get my first Dilly Bar if I entered this.
So I swiped some of her cookie dough and grilled them on the Weber with a chunk of cherry wood to flavor it up a bit.
I like the way the hot CI griddle has browned the sugars in the cookies and the berries.
And I really wish I had more of these. Sweet and spicy and smoky. I think the hot griddle made em a bit hotter than mamma's oven cookies.
This twist will be an every year twist from now on...
