Charlotte/Concord area advice for trip this weekend

The family is going to the Charlotte/Concord area this weekend to get away. I am looking for good BBQ spots and general good restaurants to eat at Friday and Saturday. Thanks for any advice.

I've only ever really driven through Charlotte, so can't help you with that. I do stop at Lexington BBQ and get honey monks there, but that is a 40 minute drive from Concord. I have really enjoyed Lexington BBQ and stopped many times. Their sliced pork also is extremely good. Others here have said there are other (better) places than Lexington BBQ in that area, but Lexington BBQ does get a lot of press. I'm hoping someone will speak up about Concord.
