This was, as always, a first class event!

Great to see all the Brethren and the Canadian teams do so well.

I had to cook on a "stick burner" for two days

But, it was Gordon's Geer. :lol:
With the insulated firebox and all of the engineering in that pit, it was a "no-brainer" to hold rock solid temps for an hour to 1.5 hours between chunking a log in there!
Even a pellet pooper guy like me had no problem.

Proud of Gordon, he rocked in Brisket and we did OK otherwize with a 6th overall in the Open.

Looking forward to next year!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I agree Tim, always a first class contest. It was great to see Bubba and then Larry win the Invitational and Open, respectively. And then all the Brethren with calls, it was a beautiful thing

I some how missed this thread,, but I made the trip down with my buddy Red Todd, and we competed in the open, took a 9th place in brisket, It was an awesome contest, very well run, having a local person as an ambassador for each team was really nice,, didn't need anything, but was nice to know if we did it was covered. It was great trip down and back,, Weather was beautiful. Hopefully we can make it again next year. Congrat to Diva Q on her calls, was great seeing you folks again. We competed under the name "Them Damn Yankees" If ya ever get the chance to go to this contest, its well worth it.

Sorry for the late post. Just wanted to say this was a great event. Met a lot of fun, interesting people. The organizers did a great job. Having WiFi was a bonus. Weather was perfect.
We were only called once in the invitational- 6th place for pork.

For those that were there... "Get your hot buttered corn! Get your hot buttered corn! Hot off the smoker!" That has forever been burned in to my brain...
