We actually cut our ribs in the front seat of a Buick Lesabre in a down pour.

I really have to say a special thanks to Sean Moffatt (Red Valley BBQ) he has talked me off the cliff a few times with Facebook messenger and has always been willing to give advice. I really was glad we got to see him for a little bit yesterday. It was just crazy busy. I don't know if any of you guys have met him in person but he is just an awesome person. I consider him to be a great friend.

Also, I have to send a special thanks to Gary Arlet of 'Pits'burgh Smokers him and his family have honestly been great. Gary was the first guy to welcome us and say hi at our first competition. He was also the first one to come up after we got crushed and encourage me to keep going. I consider Gary as a great friend along with his wife.

Both these guys are awesome people and if you get chance to visit either one at a contest ,when they have time, stop and say hi.

We just got our tent down as a storm rolled up again. Vince of Black Dawg BBQ actually made the suggestion to cut them there out of the rain.

I just got them cut and put in the box and ran them up in the storm. I didn't even expect a win. I just wanted to make sure we made our turn ins. Still no missed turn ins. They called last place to first and when they didn't call us for third I thought we got second. Then we didn't get called for second and I went absolutely crazy. We got first in ribs and it was the best feeling in the world. Got to get up and accept an award and a check.

I am going to put the money back into the bbq team in some way. The award is already hanging up on the wall in the living room.
