Went to my Ace Hardware to day to pick up another bag of Weber Charcoal and use the $5.00 off cupon. Only to find out that they no longer carry it. Has anyone else found that Ace is not selling it anymore, or, and I hope not, that Weber is not selling it anymore.
I will call Weber to find out, but first Stubbs, then Cowboys, now Weber? Why is the better quality charcoal not selling anymore?
Not trying to start a thread about which is the best, that thread has been many times discussed.
But I know what I like and I know there are many others that do too. Just trying to find out whats up.

When I asked the manager, she showed where it was "canceled" from ordering, which means they no longer carry it; the site showed B&B as the alternative.
Heck, maybe if enough Brethren complain about it they might bring it back, as long as Weber is still selling it. Hey, its worth a shot.

If Weber pulls the plug on making charcoal, I’m left with Kingsford original or royal oak. I tried RO once and didn’t like it for a few reasons. Maybe there is a better RO I could buy?

Question: does Weber make their Weber branded charcoal or do they contract it out?

If anybody finds out that Weber charcoal is pulling the plug, please post ASAP.

My Ace never carried it. I gave up after Stubb's vanished. I don't care for lump. I've been using Winn Dixie brand(SE Grocers) since Stubb's left. It's a consistent burn and smells great, but crap at the ash. It's like it doubles in size. I got a RecTeq on the way. My charcoal worries will be solved.

I really like my Ace as they have curbside, but they are usually out of the stuff I want and I have to wait a few days for it. I guess the various locations have to be careful about piling up inventory of slow moving products.

I really liked Weber briquettes, I cant find them locally anymore. Ace may have been the last place I saw them but I’m not sure how recent that was. Ive not found another briquette I’ve liked on the same level, but I’ve not tried B&B either. There is a significant amount of shelf space at my local Ace dedicated to Jealous Devil products...if they have briqs I may give them a whirl because I’ve been very pleased with their lump.

It's been a solid year and a half since I was able to buy Weber briqs. That was the last time especially since they were on clearance for $4 a bag. I grabbed a few.

Weber briquettes were/are the best briquette by a country mile, sadly, they are no where to be found around here...

Here is a link to B&B Website. There is a list of retailers. Perhaps one is in your area (other than ACE)
I’ve recently purchased almost 20 bags of B&B oak and mesquite at United Supermarket. 8# Mesquite 10# oak at $5.99@I recently purchased a bag of the Char Logs at Academy. I don’t remember seeing B&B briquettes at United.

When I went to the buy page (for the char logs) it redirected me to a no longer existing (404 error) ACE Hardware page. Just fyi.

I’ve been inside ACE perhaps twice. Split an order of Rockwood (60$ for 2 bags) once only and had a mailer with a 10$ coupon and bought BGE S&P shakers. Guess what I meant to say is I have good luck finding B&B products at grocery stores. I noticed several grocery stores on their retail list. Perhaps one carries B&B in an area that has been discontinued by ACE

As someone who likes to smoke Q, I have always tried to get the best possible charcoal briqs. Ones that burn long, hotter, and with less ash. I do not mind paying a few extra dollars for it, because in the long run I actually buy less.
As I said before, the other brands of good briqs went away, and now this.
Personally, I feel, the Brethren could help solve this by contacting Weber and letting them see the demand of their product. Lets face it, it is always about the money to them. Also, with as many here who use other Weber Products, their voices will carry a little more weight in their comments.
Its always worth the shot.

When I bought my Weber Briquettes 12-24 months ago they were like close out $5@
Can’t remember if it was Home Depot or Lowe’s, but thinking HD. Y’all searching for Weber who knows there may be some bargains out there. Website, brickseek phone calls to surrounding small towns. I would still walk in to HD and Lowes. Many times I have found unadvertised manager’s specials.
