I know that people have been cooking on drums for years but I thought this was an interesting version from 1957.
Moderators, sorry if this is in the wrong section of the forum. Wasn't sure where to post.

The instructions state "All that is needed to make this.... is a 35 or 55gal oil drum, some small wheels or large casters to provide mobility and an asbestos-lined box of heavy sheet metal to serve as the firebox."

It IS an interesting design. I wouldn't mind making one using something else for the firebox.
Saw this on another forum not long ago, just thought I'd share with the Brethren.

So "build a UDS" has been repeated and advised since before I was born!!!!
Hell Yea ;-))

Can see the pic now Jeanie - thanks!

Now the question is - is it possible to see a cooker and not want one? :noidea:

I need to get me one of them chef hats. :thumb:

If anybody builds one, please post pics! :becky:

Thanks Greg, wasn't sure if the pic showed up yet.
You do need one of those hats!
