Contest Results Colorado Rockies Invitational BBQ Championship (Competitor's Series)

I was privileged to participate in the Colorado Rockies Invitational yesterday against a field of champions. The event was put on by RMBBQA & the Colorado Rockies. Teams had to win a GC in one of the RMBBQA cup events, or were invited at the discretion of the Colorado Rockies organization based upon their prior accomplishments.

But, you have to hear the back story on that tire I woke up that morning, pulled out, got to Sam's... and crap. Tire's low. Sam's Tire Tech found a nail in it, and he fixed it (with a patch kit), we then headed to the comp about 25 minutes away. Got there, and one of the guys said, "your tire's flat". I took a look and wow! It was TOAST -- barely hanging the rim. I was lucky to not have done damage to the wheel well, etc.

Well, I started prepping meats, and while I was in my trailer my buddy Burnin' Bob taped the tire up, and texted me that "he had fixed my tire". It was the standing joke of the weekend

Fun weekend, hope to do it again!

Rules were the same as all other KCBS comps... "Competitor Series" was due to the Invitational qualifications.

We tied with IAB 30.

It was very cool that they allowed us to give samples to the public. We ran out of food about 1.5 hours after our last turn-in (plus they supplied two pork butts). The public really enjoyed it. One of the best run events I've ever been to!
