Here's a video we did last weekend. These ribs turned out awesome. Really wouldn't change a thing with the cook. If they weren't $42 for 3 ribs (up here in AK) I would be smoking more right now.

Packer briskets are pretty expensive too. Couldn't quote you on the price per pound but I know it's not pretty. About the only thing that is reasonably priced is beer.
 
After a few of those beers and a bite of that tasty rib I bet you forgot about the cost/pound! I would too. Looks fantastic!

3 rib "plate" short ribs are going to be more expensive than the 4 bone chuck beef ribs. Many meat cutters have no idea what a plate rib is since many supermarkets never get them in the first place.

Big difference between the plate ribs versus the chuck short ribs.
