somebody shut me the fark up.
I have been blessed to share the last 18 years with a wonderful woman. The one curse I have, is that she celebrates her birthday on Valentines Day. Doubly cursed...
As per Korean tradition, I asked her what she would like for her dinner celebration before her birthday tomorrow. She said she wanted steaks and scallops. I told you I was blessed...
Grabbed a couple nice ribeyes out of the freezer and bought some large scallops. Got the steaks all seasoned up:
I made some poppers out of some leftover sour cream, cheddar cheese, and green onion dip I made earlier in the week. Wasn't sure how these would turn out with the sour cream instead of cream cheese, but they worked well. A little Slap Ya Mama added for good measure.
Wrapped the scallops in bacon and hit them with a little Slap Ya Mama.
Got the scallops and poppers on the grill indirect first to give the bacon time to render:
When they were almost done, I moved them over the fire to get them charred and to make room for the steaks. Forgot to take pics of the steaks on the grill. But here is my plate:
Steak was perfect:
Poppers were tasty:
And scallops were perfectly cooked:
And had to have some flowers for her too:
