I purchased the same model a couple of months ago. If you sign up for emails on their website they will send you a coupon for 10% off.

They also include a bunch of extras which help offset the price.

Also if your manual says the warranty is only 1 year after they stop making this model that is incorrect.

I had to contact the office of the president to get the correct answer, the warranty is limited lifetime until they stop making this model, then it is an additional 5 years.

I have used mine and it works really nice

It is also the only model that Foodsaver sells that can do double sealing strips and it is built like a tank !

Seems comparable to the Weston's that people here swear by:
