Anyone willing to teach me BBQ skillz in late November

Hey guys,

I've got some leave coming up (last week of November) and will be in the states for a week (from Australia). I was thinking about coming along to any events that may be on in an effort to absorb as much as I can. I am very new to BBQ and wanting to fast track my education by observing others!

Any suggestions or ideas, all are welcome!

Post where exactly you will be and I'm sure someone will be willing to help. I met some people from Australia at the Atlanta BBQ Festival back in August and was able to give them a few tips.

Alex, where are you up to on the BBQ learning curve? Have you got yourself some form of smoker yet? Do you use a grill and indirect? Nothing like having done some to make the questions in the US even sharper and the answers even more useful.
