Bare with me, I'm new to smoking and just joined the forum last night.

Everything went great, I bet the whole neighborhood could smell it smoking!

Used an 11lb butterball so I didn't attempt any additional brine.

I filled the cavity with half an onion, one red one green apple and some celery. Coated the outside with canola oil and poultry seasoning and then injected the breast and legs. Threw some potatoes on at the same time that were coated in canola and covered with salt and pepper.

Used the minion method with apple wood.

This is the four time I've used my new WSM, third time cooking meat on it. I think I'm getting the hang of it but I do a lot of reading and watch videos prior.

Wow, and it's your first ever on a WSM. That didn't take you long to figure out how to produce good looking food on your WSM.

Job well done!

Wow that turned out great!

Nice job. My first one was really ugly comparatively--really pasty non-browed skin. Yours looks awesome for a first.

Looks like you nailed it! Nice carving job too.

Looks great. I use the same injection fluid adding some of this as well. I also find it really helps to inject the bird the night before the cook.

Thanks for all the replies, I was pretty nervous about preparing the family Thanksgiving bird but luckily it went off without a hitch. Two days later and I can still smell smoked turkey when I go into the back yard!

My wife would love that, care to mention where you found it? I haven't seen that while shopping.

Everything looks great. I need a little help. For the life of me I can not figure out how to post a new topic on this forum. I am a new member and I can't find out where to go to get the answer. Please point in the right direction.

If you get out of this thread and go back to where all the different threads are there is a "NEW THREAD" tab above all the threads.
