Major bragging rights and $500,000 are up for grabs in this one-of-a-kind competition series!

Isn't this the amount it's always been? Should be pretty much same prize money then I would think.

Did Rich have something to do with these 2 Michigan comps 50 miles from each other? Curses Rich...curses.

yes, it does say that on the list of contests page, then it says something different in the rules.

I am interested to see what the payouts are going to be.... They must be changing something or they would have announced it when the dates were released. Going out a limb here, I think the grand prize is going up.

Dang Southaven MS for Region 1 again. That may be a deal-breaker.

The other regionals are at least somewhat central to the region (though some are a big hike from the local). It looks like Southhaven as a local and Marietta as the regional would make more sense.

If I remember correctly they said at the Awards in Bentonville they were going to work on getting more money for the teams..........

Have to remember that Sam's is doing it more for them and the other sponsors than for us. We're #2 on their list. (hell, maybe lower).. which is fine by me, it is what it is, and I accept that. I don't know of any corporations that would give out that kind of money out of the kindness of their hearts or for the love of a sport without expecting to make something out of it for themselves. So, wherever they have chosen the contests to be at, it's to their advantage. I've been fortunate for the 3rd year in a row to have some close contests, but don't expect it to be that way forever, and that's fine too..

Just give me the opportunity to win a bunch of money and go up against the best of the best, and I'm happy. I can't make a run for TOY so this is the next closest thing for me.

Looks like they are going to have one of the local shows in SLC again this year. I judged the show last year, and I want to compete in it this year. If I do it will pop my competition cherry. I'm already excited...

One thing I noticed is that the Midwest regional qualifier is the weekend before the American Royal and the finals are the weekend after the royal. That may make things tough for a few teams I would imagine.

That's how it was a couple years ago. The Colorado Rockies Invitational is also the week before the Midwest City regional. It's a hell of a three or four week run. Makes you really hope you are peaking that time of year
