I've been buying whole hogs through a butcher shop for several years. I'm now set up with large enough refrigeration and can do it myself and my food supplier offers the same frozen whole hogs for $0.75lb less than I'm currently paying plus it saves me a 1 hour round trip to pick up the hog. My question is what would be a thaw time for 125-150lb hogs at 38 degrees in a refrigerator?

Easily a week.....

I'd make the hour trip for fresh. ;)

I would too if it were fresh but the butcher shop I can get them from orders them frozen and thaws them for me. Same hog either way except I save $0.75lb and a one hour round trip
