The ol’ waistband was feeling a little snug again, so I decided it’s time to cut carbs for a while and loosen the britches. I waste doing my obligatory meat gazing at the store yesterday and spotted some 12oz ribeyes prices around $10/lb, which is a couple bucks less per pound than Sam’s lately, sadly.

They were “ungraded” but caught my eye pretty quickly…I’ll call these “prime-ish”. Kind of a last minute meal do I didn’t get real creative with the side and went with quick and easy grilled asparagus in avocado oil with kosher salt and cracked black pepper.

Bout $8 for this plate, a good bit cheaper than some McCrap fast food meal. Not that I ate a lot of those anyway, but eating good doesn’t gotta cost a fortune either :thumb:

Got some dry brined chicken quarters going with the residual heat in the Primo.

Quarters are done, should make good air fryer reheat fodder. About $3 for these, one of my favorite things to eat. Season with kosher salt and fine ground black pepper, into a gallon ziploc bag overnight, onto the grill as is with some pecan chips for a little hit of smoke. These come from a farm in Arkansas according to the guy at the meat counter, they’re always really good so I usually try to pick up quarters from this particular store. $1.19/lb cheap eats :becky:

195*+ is where it’s at for dark meat IMO. Very juicy, fully rendered, and tender.

Some of my favorite cooks are simply protein and vegetables.
The older ya get...That works...

Excellent deal! Last week at my local Costco, the regular rib eyes were $15/lb.

Sorry to hear that you're feeling the need to cut carbs. As far as "diets" go, there are worse ways to eat....and your preparation shows that nicely!

Great marbling on that and super cook. I have been seeing $20 lb ribeyes that have the marbling of a round steak  I just don't get it

Reheat wise, mainly just skin on chicken, sometimes pizza. I cook a fair amount of things in it, but it reheats skin on chicken great. It’s almost as good as straight off the grill.

I use the air frier to finish chicken once it’s left the smoker. To crisp skin. Works great!
