The City of Auburn, GA is hosting their 4th Annual Smok'n Heroes Backyard BBQ Competition this Friday and Saturday, May 5th and 6th. The deadline for registrations has been extended to 5/3 at 5:00 pm (you can email the registration form and pay on Friday at check in).
First Prize (three categories chicken, butts and ribs) - $500 and plaque
2nd Prize (three categories) - $250 and plaque
3rd Price (three categories) - plaque
Grand Prize - $500
People's Choice - $300
City supplies greenery, turn in boxes and 2 butts for People's Choice.

Great hometown competition in conjunction with History & Heroes Celebration. Celebration has the Remembering Our Fallen - Georgia Memorial. This memorial features all of the Fallen Service Members in Georgia since September 11.
Family members have left notes for their loved ones on the display. This is a stark reminder that "Freedom is Not Free."
Blacksmith Trenton Tye of Purgatory Iron Works and "Forged in Fire" Fame doing demonstration, a flint knapper, live music, a motorcycle/jeep ride, the Memorial and so much more.
