2-3 years ago I saved up a bunch (gallon zip lock) of sawdust from some oak wood I cut up. I need to use it or throw it away. Has anyone ever added sawdust to the pellet mix in a smoke tube? I don’t pellet smoke often because I’m always disappointed in the results but I’m thinking this may help?

Also, can I assume mixing a little sawdust into pellet hopper with pellets is a bad idea? I’m normally a stick burner but am thinking of using my Yoder this weekend for a brisket.

Is there a better use for this oak saw dust?

I’m using splits that fit with pellets. So far so good.

you can add that, I add bark off of a hickory shag bark tree often, stuff some in it then pack pellets down it and light and use as needed lol

I've know folks that mix the crumbs from the bottom of lump charcoal with the pellets. They claim it makes the burn more consistent.

I’m thinking I breaking up lump and running that with mini splits.

I never tried using sawdust, but ive heard over the years that sawdust gives you a cleaner burning smoke flavor then pellets. Again, never tried it so take it with a grain of salt.
