I made this for a luau we had over the summer thought I would share it. It was awesome! I did not find the guava or kiawe wood used mesquite instead. Could not find Hawaiian chili peppers used red chili peppers. I ordered the mango pineapple glaze online.

That looks really good! I will have to try that...with a few tweeks though. What if you left the butt whole, inject the heck out of it with the marinade and use the rest of the marinade in the bag or alum pan, rub the outside of the butt with the rub and then let it chill in the refridgerator for a day. Then smoke it like a "regular" butt with the mesquite for the first few hours. And when it's all said and done you could pull some and slice the rest and fry it up like the author mentions. Thoughts?
