I've been using one 1/2 of a PCI grate for a Weber gasser but it can be
a pain to pick up and move around on the regular grate because of the
swing up parts that allow access to the fire.
Each quarter of the grate lifts out for easy access to the fire. Pretty cool.

Adding wood while the grate is hot might get a little tricky. Do you have a grate lifter or some other device? I think I would miss a grate hinge in that situation.

There is a little tool you can buy from them. It lefts the crate out nice and easy. This makes adding coals easier then the hinge since you can reach any area.

I actually bought the cast iron lifting handle with my grate. The grate quarters lift out pretty easy with just using tongs, though I havent cooked anything that heavy on it yet. Not too much of an issue. So far.

As far as picking up the grate I use a generic grate picker upper.

Carbon, very nice, I gotta clean my grill up, getting jealous here. Did you put a spacer between the kettle and the table?

Thanks, yes I installed a 1/4" aluminum rod spacer to lift the kettle off the table a bit so that the lid can properly seat itself.

Gotta get me a set of those grates! Too bad Weber does not sell the kettles like that.
