Hi Guys

Can we talk wood? Live in Suffolk County. I just to go here for kiln dried fresh cut smoke wood for my smoker and BBQ:
http://www.lifirewood.com/bbq-smoker-wood.php

They have stopped and now “We will continue to sell KILN DRIED Cooking wood for pizza ovens & cooking.”

A few questions from a newbie:

1) Any difference between kiln dried fresh cut smoke wood and the wood I have purchased from Home Depot. Can you tell the difference?

2) If worth the search, is there anywhere on Long Island where you can pick up some kiln dried fresh cut smoke wood?

Thanks!

It's all about moisture content, ask them what the moisture content of their wood is after it comes out of the kiln.
I like to have my cooking wood, both splits and chunks, at around 12%-16% moisture.
What woods can you get there?
