Thawed out a venison backstrap from this years hunt and fired up my little charcoal grill out front. Rubbed down with a chipotle rub I mixed up. I will try and find the recipe. The stuff is excellent on game. My wife threw together some sides (quinoa "YUCK", and some roasted broccoli. I used the drippings from the venison while it was resting and sautéed a shallot, threw in some red wine, black currant preserves, and finished it with butter. The plated shot doesn't show the sauce since wifey wanted hers on the side. Thanks for looking

Here is the recipe to the chipotle rub. Really gives the meat A nice smokiness. I found this from a website called Wideopenspaces.
Ingredients:

  • 2 tablespoons brown sugar
  • 1 tablespoon sweet smoked paprika
  • 1 tablespoon coarse kosher salt
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons chipotle chile powder
