i live on a farm and we have beef cattle, digging through my freezer for some roasts to make a pot roast with i came across a Sirloin Tip Roast, is this the tri tip i see on here all the time?

Often I have seen retailers and butchers call a round tip a "sirloin tip" which is not a bottom sirloin. Post a pic if you can.

Bottom sirloin is a primal cut. The "sub-primal" sirloin tip comes out of that. Should be good with the east coast/mid west butchers. I'm in cali and everyone knows what a tri-tip is!

So the answer to the question is no, it is not the same. From the same area, but not the same.

No its not the same thing, it is like a round roast like Top round, eye round, bottom round
