Just picked up a used chubby gen 1. I can’t get the doors to slam. I’m including some pics. Can y’all tell me if they are in the correct position? Are the supposed to catch on the little wheels or go farther and catch on the flat portion?

Sometimes that is a sign that your gaskets need to be replaced. Once they get hard it makes the doors hard to latch.

I echo what Lahawk1 said. I highly recommend replacing the gaskets on a used Backwoods. It’s easy enough - there is a video on YouTube.

You can also adjust the position of the roller on the latch to move it in or out. There are two screws holding it in place - one on the inside and one on the outside. You could try messing with those too.

Contact Backwoods. They will sell it to you. My Chubby G2 was 35.00 plus shipping for enough to do the firebox and door.
