I saw a Weber One Touch Silver - without the pan,
in the Metal area, kinda put aside. I needed the lid for my UDS, so I swung my big van in parked sideways and swiped the lid and the grate and threw it in the side doors like a teenager. I looped slowly, sure cameras saw it, but the bottom of the grill sat there and looked lonely, so I pull up broadside and threw the rest of the grill into the van like a heist at a BANK!
Some 'worker ' there eyed the thing to take home,
I helped him recycle :)

That's not scavenging. That's a rescue.

You did the right thing.

That poor kettle probably wept while it watched it's owner drive away.

Nice job, but you know the food will taste even better now.... LOL

You saved that poor thing. I'm glad you went back for the rest. It would not have been right to not keep it whole.

You can keep it my house until the heat is off if you would like.

Doing the right thing is doing the right thing.

Haha awesome! Next to my work is a large scrap business and I'm always digging around looking for old grills and such

My wife has band me long ago from going to the dump by myself, almost always brought more stuff home than I took.
