I doubt there is much new under the sun so this is probably well known somewhere, but it struck me as a new idea and I tried it.
The Fabulous One has declared it her new favourite breakfast!
Cook the mushroom face down after removing the stem.
Flip when tender and cook face up.
When you are a few minutes from done, crack the egg on top.
I used an egg ring. Add a tablespoon of water to the pan and put a lid on allowing the egg to steam.
I top mine with a little spicy pico de gallo and some spices, it get's me going in the mornings!

:laugh: Good point, I like it oozy runny and yummy, but we ate it instead of getting the gold standard pic.

I saw the title an new this was going to be awesome. I would cook the mushroom in bacon or sausage grease then exactly what you did, that would be so good. Going to do this soon. Thanks
 
Love it! although I am slightly dissapointed not seeing an egg shaped like a mushroom. but thats my own fault. If you wanted to kick it up a notch for those "special" mornings add a little holladaise sauce. EggShroomBenedict
