This will be my first KCBS event, and the only one in Texas I know of.

We received a Labor Day Weekend exemption by consenting to a police escort in and out of the state. We were a little confused by the request for a cavity search...but, in the spirit of cooperation, we sent them our dental records and said find 'em yourselves.:thumb:
 
Keller Steeler said he'll be there.
 
BBQHOG.com will be there. My first contest in Texas.
 
After a crazy year with a new job in Alabama and now back in Texas, Pappa Charlies will more than likely be dusting off our UDS's and head north to the MetroPlex.

Final decision tomorrow.

With only two comps this year, a beat down in Havasu and the same results in Elba, Alabama, I'm just there for the beer..

Wendy finally replied. So, I'm in.

Looking at the festival map, I'm not so sure of the wisdom of having the childrens activity area next to the BBQ site also known as the Adult Activity Area...

looks like at least 40 teams, looking forward to meeting all the Brethren in attendance.

10% of the teams look to be from Keller.

Gonna be out of my element and may still be on crutches.
 
I'll be there cooking in my first competition so you guys go easy on me and if you see my set up on fire, please spill some water on it.
 
Heads up...Bedford has had some rain in the last 24 hrs. I'm not sure how well the contest site drains. The unofficial total in my backyard, which is less than 10 minutes from the contest site, is over 2 inches in the last 12 hours. We've been dry enough over the last month or so that I don't think it will be much of a problem. Just to be safe you might want to come prepared for some mud, though.
