Full Fledged Farker
Was fed up with trying various methods to ward off rust including respraying with paint and spraying with PAM and heating up the cooker like I would with a cast iron pan etc..
Heard that Linseed oil actually oxidizes at room temperature, so thought its worth a try!
Used a paper towel to take 5 minutes to rub a thin layer of linseed (flaxseed) oil bought at the supermarket over any areas of the cooker where paint had worn off during the week, and sure enough after a few days even without firing up the pit the area had changed from looking like bare metal or rusty to a dark brown/bronze shiny seasoned color.
It has just finished pouring rain, and the water is just beading on the surface of the cooker like on a freshly waxed car.
