seasoning a brick smoker

i have searched the internet and cant find anything about seasoning a new brick smoker.
So my question is "Do you need to season brick smoker or is there something else you do"

You only need to season metal like the grates or any metal exposed to indirect heat/fire to prevent corrosion.
 
Since its a new brick smoker dont crank up the heat to quickly or else you can thermal shock it and potential crack the bricks, smoke low and slow to drive out any moisture
 
Just a fire to warm things up slowly and go through a temperature cycle
