I just unwrapped my new Yoder 1500, have been cooking with a small traeger for 3 years.

If anyone has any feedback from using their 1500 please let me know.

Looking for any tips on pork belly as I have never smoked one before.

Thanks

Congrats on the new toy...picked up a YS640 a couple weeks ago after using a GMG for a few years. Just burn it in...oil the cooking grates...Don't cover the diffuser with foil in your model! My buddy's YS1500 cooks very, very evenly...i did notice that the temp controllers take a few minutes to settle in too the set temp. Just be sure to scrap down the diffuser plate after each cook to prevent grease fires since you can't foil the YS1500.

You are talking Ribs I take it...I have always had good luck with the 3-2-1 method talked about so much here.

Vid explaining it...good luck!

Here's what I would do: Cook something on it the first time that you know how to cook so you can compare it to your old cooker. KISS :thumb:

(And for goodness sake, smoke a fatty)
