Good smoked food with Bourbon?

Sounds great.

Only problem is it's 3:30pm and it'll be at least 2 more hours before I get home and pour myself a bourbon! This post has made me both hungry AND thirsty!

I saw this the other day on TV. Bourbon Smoked Sea Salt. I was wondering what this paired with burning bourbon barrel wood staves would taste like. I think jack Daniels
and a few other bourbon companies sell their barrels for smoking wood.

If you live in a town where a lot of craft beer is brewed chances are someone is already bringing bourbon barrels there to age strong beer in it. Try CL or a local brewers forum to grab some bourbon soaked oak. Or most breweries will sell their barrels when done for a song to make room for new ones so you'll have bourbon and Barley Wine soaked oak for special occasions.

It's someone on this site's avatar but I've been diggin' that Templeton Rye small batch and also Angel's Envy, super smooth and complex for the price and having at BevMo.
