Stopped at walmart to get a couple briskets for a company cook. $2.56 per lb, not bad I say for Tampa,fl. Well I noticed the price tag had $2.96, so I went to the meat manger to have fixed came back 10 minutes later with a price gun in hand. He said sorry it took so long but the scale was broken, so then said he will mark down manually, so I jokingly say $1.97 per lb sounds good to me since I see thru the forum the prices in Texas. End all be all I now have 3 16lb. briskets. Now on to the bonus, there was a 20lb. with broken cryovac. I tell the guy I will take a chance on that at $0.99 per lb. Sure he says, this one I will just grind up for the freezer.

Looks like you were in the right place at the right time with the right manager... Great score.

Sweet! I was paying $5.99 a pound here in Denver last year. Hope prices went down like you got!

Was that a Publix? When I lived in Clearwater we shopped at Publix and at Albertson's mostly.
