So I was allowed to buy a toy hauler rv for the next BBQ season, and now I want to organize all of my equipment. My thought was a rolling tool cabinet with a stainless top. Something that I can roll into the garage area and it holds everything from rubs, gloves, foil, knives, etc and double as a table. Any suggestions?

This is what I had in my toy hauler, it worked out awesome! It doesn't have a SS top though, you can put a sheet of SS on it with double sided tape(that's what I did) and it's less than $300!!

We keep everything in the drawers and cabinets in the TH and use a 6' folding table with leg extenders for prep. My rubs are in a bin in the cabinet so I can take it into the house to replenish and dirty dishes go into our hotel pans so they can be carried into the house to be washed.

Do you folks find that the toolbox holds almost everything? I am tired of moving totes around and was thinking of small toolboxes - but this looks like everything will fit into one complete setup

This toolbox held everything except for the foil and plastic wrap containers, so I mounted them to the wall behind where the toolbox was.

I bought cabinets, paper towel stations, and a folding table from this site and have been very happy with it all.

We used this one for a few years now, it does rust and had to replace the wheels.
this is our only "tote" everything fits for us.

We are a husband-wife team. We each have our own 48"X24" stainless steel table with a 42" tool chest sitting on the undershelf. Gives us plenty of prep and work area, and we each get our own storage area to organize how we want. At least in theory...

You needed MORE counter space to go with the stainless counter top that runs almost the whole length of your huge toy hauler? :becky: I have counter envy.

This is our carry-all tote

At least 8 teams that I am aware of have build some sort of take on my portable shelves. I build them after I realized I spent most of my setup and take down time carrying stuff in and out of the RV.

This is how they are made:

Wire frame from http://www.shelving.com :

SC184264 18"d x 42"w x 64"h Wire Unit with Four Shelves1
SI-ASL18C 18"w Chrome Wire Shelf Ledge 2
SI-ASL42C 42"w Chrome Wire Shelf Ledge1

Wire shelving needs to be secured from vertical movement, such as in a BBQ trailer. A self tapping stainless steel screw through two corners of each shelf into the post underneath will lock them in.

Resin Drawers are from Suncast. I have towers of three, and individual drawers. I think Suncast has discontinued these, but you can still find the 3 drawer sets at Lowe's, Home Depot, or on Amazon.

https://www.suncast.com/sheds-storage/garage-storage/drt1288cd-utility-three-drawer-tower.html

The drawers are secured to the shelving unit via stainless steel bolts, nuts, and fender washers.

I use a 5/16" stainless steel bolt and nut with those washers, at least 2.5" long as it has to span the gap between the drawer and the shelf. You should be able to find those at Lowe's, Home Depot, or online.

For anyone considering the stainless steel table/toolbox combo I posted above, keep in mind that the drawers will not open until the top lid is opened pretty high. It's a security mechanism and we removed it, as we didn't have enough room to open the lid high enough to release the drawers.
