I can get the original 180 thermostat for $80 shipped or the new version from traeger for $120. I am upgrading from the 3 position switch. Is the new one worth $50 more dollars? Money i do not really have...or just deal w/ the reported temp spikes on the older model?

I have the 180's on all my Traegers. At first I thought it would be nice to be able to fine tune the heat a little better (be able to set it atleast at 25° intervals) but the 180's work fine so if you're strapped for cash as alot of us are right now just go with the 180 you will be plenty happy with it.
