First time making ribs, wood and charoal?

Sounds like you are covered as far as sound advice goes. Your first few cooks, you will definitely have a learning curve. Start simple.

If you can, post details and pics of your cooks along with any questions you might have, and you will get all the advice you need from the fine brothren here. Great folks and always ready to help.
