Thank you, Adams! Pizza's one of those things that every culture has...like burritos and tacos. You won't find this in any history book, but I've always told my kids that the Chinese invented pizza. Of course, their pizza looked nothing like today's pizza...until it made the months long boatride back to Italy with someone like Marco Polo. By that time, the Chinese bread had molded and become gooey and stretchy and very colorful with reds and greens...and tasted like a combination of acidic and creamy flavors. The Italians did their best to recreate it, and that's what gave rise to a bread crust topped with tomato sauce and cheese and a range of colorful sweet and savory toppings! Lol. That's my story and I'm standing by it!

I found it interesting that most of the high scorers were not cooked in a gas oven. I was pleasantly surprised.
