I was doing some online research on Ugly Drum Smokers and saw that many folks have created some very fancy and nice looking ones. But everyone once in a while you run across a few, that while I am sure they work great, really put the "U" in ugly drum smokers.

Feel free to post pics of your favorite ugly smokers. They do not have to be UDS's to qualify.

Mine spent a few years at my beach house. Salt air conditions were harsh on the outside of the drum, but it still smokes perfectly!

Ha! I almost posted a pic of my brother-in-law smoking a big ole stogie and holding a flask of brown liqueur. Sure glad I was not the first reply to this post. Because he is ugly and he smokes and drinks way that he should.

:clap2:

A picture of my take on the 007. I made a framework of angle iron for the drum to sit on and a pipe for the rod to insert into. Everything but the 3/4" rod was iron I had laying around. This way I can use it on all 3 of my drums or over a firepit if I wanted.

I detect a trend here. Most of the pictures of 007's. What does that say about them?

Ouch.

"It's a stinkin' prototype!!!"

This ones barely ugly
"The Del Rogue 007 Stick Burner, Limited Edition".

It still needs the "Octoforks" roti attachment, and grill basket which is in transit.

It is ON. The immediate thing that I noticed is the sweet campfire smell of burning wood, as opposed to the different smell of smoldering charcoal/wood.

Temp was near 350F, and chiles were quickly blistering.

Now that my maiden burn is over without any real difficulty, I look forward to cooking a big slab of meat on this cooker this upcoming weekend. A very relaxing cook, actually, in spite of the newness of the method. Hard to burn anything when all you have to do is swing the grate away from the fire. It was surprising how hot that barrel can get with just a couple of splits. Very fun, and the smell is like a campfire. Looking forward to longer cooks. Thanks Master Keith!

Ah heck just join the dark side already
