Getting close to pulling the trigger.

I have read tons of old posts here from users and have a few questions.

A lot of the reviews I see people stating the right side of the cooker is about 50 degrees lower than the left side, so they are forced to bump their temp up to 300-350 to get certain parts of their cooker at the correct temp.

My question lies here. Are you still able to get thin blue smoke cooking on this ys1500 at that temperature?

I owned a 480 back in the day and anything above 220 I wasn't getting anything. Was basically cooking in an oven.

THanks

in short. Yes.

You MUST learn to cook to the cooker. Every single one is different. Check out my thread "Prospero has arrived" if you haven't already. The 1500 does not produce the same product (IMO) as other pellets cookers. Absolutely love it!

Yeah. I just don't want to have to start every cook at 215-220 to get a smoke profile then bump the temperature up. Hoping this isn't how this cooker is - seems like every pellet cooker I have looked at so far is. (I haven't seen many videos of this cooker online)

Sold my 480 for the very same reason you stated in your OP.

Stick burner and my soon to be here Vertical Cabinet for me from here on out.
