what do u put in ur green beans to try n set them apart from others? i usually use bacon. someone said smoked turkey? what do yall think?

Bacon grease, salt and pepper, that meets all requirements, if you wanna go fancy, cook some small red taters in 'em.

I cut bacon and onions up and fry them in a pan till they are real crispy and almost burnt looking . leave grease and all in the pan and add water, green beans , kosher salt , pepper and sugar , let simmer for 4 hours and they come out like Grandma used to make .

That all sounds good - it's summertime and the beans and tomatoes are coming on strong - Fasolakia is a good Greek recipe.
