Anyone else finish their barbecue on a grill prior to serving it? I've started doing it lately with ribs. Ribs, especially beef back ribs, seem to take on an unbelievable flavour when I add some char to the already smoked ribs. just a quick sear on each side really seems to make a difference to my palate.

I never see it mentoned and the sited search function isn't work. Anyone ever tried it with a bigger cut of meat like a brisket or pork butt?

a guy around me sears his briskets on a weber.

i say...find something u like and keep on doing it!

I've finished meats on the gasser many times, it works good, and can save some time also.

Almost always sear ribs, pork tenderloin & loin after smoking on gas grill.
Often smoke butts or brisket for 6-8 hours & finish panned on gasser.

I always finish poultry and game fowl on the grill, to get that crispy skin I really like.

I also use the grill to reheat leftover ribs and such with a quick and hot source of heat for heating without continued cooking.
