AB along with others to me helped put KC on the map for BBQ so it will always have it's place. Wall's are lined with celeb photos of who have come through there. The sauce I don't really care for unless it is on their meat. Have not been in 3-4 years though so can't comment on how any of the food is now. We have over 100 bbq establishments in the metro area so you will get many varying opinions. SLAPS, Q39 are both pretty new but always get awesome reviews.
If you go to Joes Kansas city/OK joes I would personally call it in instead of waiting in the hour long line. You can't eat in the restaurant with to go orders but saves a lot of time from standing in line.
Skip: Johnnys bbq, woodyard, RJ's, Wyandotte 2, I'm sure I can add more later! Only reason I say skip is because to me they are just OK bbq. But again that is my personal opinion.
