Went to get the Big Easy ready, and it won't fire . . . Propane is good, and it was brought in for most of the day so it could thaw (in case that was the issue), but still no spark . . . Suggestions? I'm not the tech, so any help would be appreciated.

Thanks!

Are you using the igniter? Have you tried lighting it with a match?

Can you hear the gas flowing? Sometimes the connector on the tank feels tight but doesn't depress the safety valve.

Make sure you are turning the ignition all the way, you should hear it click.

Like TXLX said, if all else fails use a match.

With fuel knob turned off, rotate the spark ignitor. Should be able to easily see the spark at night. If not, use match. If you see spark, check propane tank/fuel. Can only be one or the other.

The match light hole is in the side of the unit, its got a plate covering it that just moves out of the way when you give it a flip

use a long propane lighter instead of a match

Com'on Toast, it is 2014

Make sure the wire did not become detached from the bottom of the unit... or that it is not wet...

If I remember right, TBE guide mentions spiders or small bugs getting into the burner or venturi and restricting gas flow.

Some igniters use a battery. If you don't hear/smell gas flowing the tank safety device could be preventing gas flow. Shut off the tank, disconnect the line from the tank, open the burner valves to clear, close, reconnect the line and try again. Always open the tank valve slowly with the burner valves closed.

edit: here's a link that goes into more detail about the Flow Limiting Device http://www.justanswer.com/home-improvement/6vesz-gas-grill-won-t-light-bought-new-regulator.html

Sometimes when you open the propane bottle too quickly it triggers the safety valve. Close it and bleed off the pressure and then open the bottle slowly.
