Hey all, just had a few questions regarding my project coming up. Before anyone worries or asks I have already cleaned and had a huge bon fire in the tank after I cut it open to make sure there is no residue in the tank. Anyways my first step I am going to do is the legs/bottom portion. Was going to run 2 lengths of 2" angle on both sides of the bottom and weld or fasten to the legs to that from the extra steel I have laying around.

ANYWAYS, main question here..... Height of the actual grill surface? not the bottom or top of the tank but what you'll throw the meat on. 36"? 40? not sure, let me know your thoughts. I know oil tanks aren't the most efficient but I am more or less doing this as a fun project.

I would say whatever puts it at waist level. If you plan on doing multiple cuts of large meats, you'll want to really be able to get in there to move things around without having to drag them across your grates. Something to think about, good luck!!!
