Picked up my Shirley Fabrication smoker today! It is a thing of beauty! Now I must begin on figuring out how to run it...first time using a stick burner! A big thanks to Paul and his guys for being patient with me and the many changes etc on the build! You guys are amazing and as friendly as can be! Plus your dogs are awesome!

Anyone have any advice on how to run the warmer hotter(like 400ish) than the main chamber?(275ish)(It has the damper from the main chamber to warmer and the damper from firebox directly to warmer) Thanks!

Looks just like mine!! Congrats!!

On your question, I think the best way to get the warmer that hot is to close off the damper and use charcoal and the charcoal tray

I have never seen that kind of temp in the warmer with just a fire in the box

Looks great! Just finished off a brisket in my sf. Those guys continue to do great work

Congrats! I like it:thumb: Even the OU logo looks sharp.:tsk: Looks like you have a lot of the same options that I am getting. Stick burners are not hard. Just have to remember that you are cooking in a range, 275-325, vs dialing in to 300 exactly. Don't let the temps flip you out. Add a log when it drops down to 275 or so, let it jump up above 300, wait 45-60 minutes and repeat. It helps to preheat the splits. I know I love to give you OU guys crap but I can't see anything to complain about in this post other than you got yours before I got mine.

What size did you get?

Congrats on that sweet piece of hardware, them boys do make hardware for hard wear!

If cracking the damper from the fb to the warmer a little will not do it then you will have to load some charcoal or lump in the warmer.

That's a nice rig ya got there. I want one in a bad way, minus the OU plate of course :-D

yea but then its more like grilling lol...i think i figured it out tho..i took out the deflector in the warmer and closed the exhaust on the main chamber halfway and that seemed to do the trick...i got it about 50 degrees hotter at least
