Some of you may have followed starting this in the Woodpile. Is officially mine now so moving it to QTalk.
I found a 4 year old Lang on Craigslist about 5 miles from me. First Lang I've seen in a year of looking. Guy didn't take great care of it and stopped cooking on it when his kids moved out. He's moving to a condo so I took it off his hands.
Moving this beast was a pain. Wheelbase was too wide for the uhaul ramp so I had to engineer a slide with a piece of plywood.
Got it positioned in the backyard, it has a fair amount of rust and old grease. He even left ash in the firebox. Who knows how long it's been there.
Gave it a quick hit with a wire brush attachment on my drill. Plan to do this more thoroughly and then paint with high heat paint. Today the goal is to knock the rust off, vacuum it out. Run it up to 300 and spray it out..rinse repeat.
Got it running pretty well. Surprised how long it took to come up to heat. 1/4 inch steel takes a while. Going to have to build a bigger fire to start.
Now it's running TBS and almost ready for the first Fatty. That's all I have time for today.
