Another kettle cook that I've been wanting to try........so here goes! Stopped by rd and grabbed a 2 pack of trimmed spares.Seasoned one rack with just k salt and corse black pepper. The other with a memphis style rub.For the beans it a modded recipie from the bbq bible called quick and smokey.Under the ribs they go.
Running with stubbs and oak wood again, it worked awesome for the shorties yesterday.Lid closed and will stay that way for a couple of hours.

Good for you! Leaving the lid closed leaves more time for beer and relaxation.

Looks good. I love to cook beans under a pork butt for 4 or 5 hours. May have to try it with ribs too.

2 1/2 hours

2 1/2 hours later checking on the beans. Gave them a quick stir, adjusted the ribs and back on goes the lid.A lot of drippings were floating in the top of beans, but it's all good!

It tends to go like that.....you can always ladle some out & mix at the end.....

20150621_165047.jpgPulled the ribs after passing the bend test.Soaked a lot of orange juice from the beans and let them smoke for another hour. All plated up and ready to eat.The beans were awesome and the ribs were great.Even my 10yr old that doesn't like meat ate 2!
I thought the ribs with just k salt and pepper were the best.
