Now I want a smoke house. I mean, who wouldn't want a smokehouse like Cowgirl? After seeing those pics, and all.

EDIT- I just took a look at her site for more super pics of the smoke house and many construction pics. Wow.

Thank you Ted. It's 10 yrs old now but still working great.

Ted you can say that again, looking at hers would make anyone want one like that sitting in their yard. Her smoke house is def the best I've ever seen.!! Cowgirl did an amazing job with that build being 10 years old and still looks like she just built it last weekend. I might have to pay a round trip and all her expenses to come build me one like it.. :biggrin1:

Thanks!!
lol I didn't run out and take a pic of the smokehouse for this thread. The pics are older. It still looks the same, a bit darker. I put a weather protector on the outside every few years. It's still working out great for me!

Is there a dedicated thread on these little smokehouses?? Man, I'm infatuated with the idea of one in my yard.

Working hard in the rain:

So, is that Maverick REALLY rain-proof?

The hockey stick one im thinking needs to be an accessory to my workshop/ one car garage im building off of my already two car garage. Cant get any manlier than that.!! Work on any projects you have going on while barbecuing and never having to leave the garage.!! Plus in the winter months your garage would be warm.

Yep - that Maverick is still going strong a few years later, and that umbrella kept flying away, so it got plenty soaked too!

UDS progressions

Here is my UDS progression over the last few years. Hopefully these pics show. I'm not a big poster so I'm not sure if I'm doing it right. I've attached some of the pics since it seems I can't share a link from Google drive.

All of these inspired my latest that I made to sell:

Then that first one got turned into furniture for our new dining/entertainment room.

Great looking room!
That your man cave? Almost looks like a restaurant.

It used to be a useless dining room/family room with the partial wall between so we wanted to make it into more of a restaurant feel for more realistic entertaining. It would be cool to build an indoor smoker in there to get the BBQ smell impermeated into the room but the wife wasn't really into that.

Besides the 4 home built mini wsm's (they keep disappearing to family and friends) and my UDS's and bullet smoker. There is my horizontal drum smoker. First built to run on coal/wood alone. Took alot of time to adjust the placement of the intakes and the exhaust size and height. Now it will go 11hrs on one basket of coals/wood. That was a major challenge to get the whole basket of coals to burn. Proper air flow.
Then I added a large exhaust for running as an off set smoker. And an offset fire box. So now it will cook either way I have time for. Takes splits every 40 to 45 minutes into the fire box for 275*. Looks like cr^p, but works extremely well. When I build the next one, I know what/where I have to do so it works right.
It's my nature to modify everything to make things better for me. Even my DEB Humphrey's is modified
I recently make up a pizza style cooker for my UDS. To make it easier to add/rotate pies without having to remove a lid. Easy to add wood where needed. Works real well. Again kind of ugly, but they are all proto type builds.

The pizza lid lifted up to show what I did.

Before adding wood and pizza stone

The adventure continues :loco:
