So after some forcible arm twisting from Randall at Deep South Smokers, I am now the proud owner of a brand spanking new Deep South Single Chamber smoker! I have been looking at cabinet smokers for years now after competing against and cooking with teams like Uncle Bud's, Tenacious Q, Potts BBQ, etc., but after seeing Randall's work and the winning results, I didn't have much of a choice. Using Randall's guidance, we picked Toyota Raceway Blue, as this is the perfect color for the background for our logo; however, we had no idea how rich and sparkly the final result would be.

I did do a seasoning burn last weekend (took forever to figure out how to post pictures correctly from my Samsung phone...), and this unit is amazing. Ran for 5 hours on about a 1/4 load of lump charcoal, had almost no ash, surprisingly stable temp management and response, and best of all, when I added cherry chunks, I could actually smell the cherry almost immediately. The lump was so clean burning, that it was more like an oven than a smoker! My WSM is efficient, but you always get a little of the charcoal smell, which we didn't get after startup on the Deep South.

This smoker is completely welded, and the finish is beautiful. The pictures below, really don't do the actual smoker justice, but it's the best I can do!
