If you have a tandem axle trailer that your smoker is built on, what were your requirements to get a tag for the trailer?

Hope this is in the correct topic area.

I lived in AL for over 25 years but have no idea what the requirements are.
Anything you hear over the net is.........

May I suggest a call or visit to the tag office for factual information on a legal matter?

I think the counties would all have a different answer. Call your Probate office and ask them. It might be better to tell them it is homemade, then you would not get into the "TITLE" issue. I am assuming you do not have a title.
Tell them it is a mobile BBQ Pit that is towable.
You might be told that you do not need one if so get it in writing so if you are ever stopped you can produce that document.

Already been there and talked to them. They will be requiring an MCO (title) because of the new law in 2004 for tandem axles and being over 16 ft. long. There will not be a title for this custom built pit. Tried the home built route, no go. They kept falling back on the tandem axles and length issues and the State Law.

Yep, it is the "TITLE ISSUE" and I won't have one.

A clearer picture now.

Did you build the trailer?
or
Did a "Pro" build it?

If Pro built, they should be able to issue a MSO.

Gotta be a simple solution--this is not that unusual.

And, as to the second part of your origonal question:
This is a WoodPile thread and one of the friendly local Moderator's will be along to move it.
No biggo Deal !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
