How old is this weber?

1980 is the newest it can be. 1981 Weber went with wooden handles. I'd know more exact if the vent says "patent pending" or an actual patent number.

Well, it has the rolled lip twist-on ash pan and a large tab on the top vent. Makes it late 70's for sure.

Looks to be in good shape. Of course, I'd like to see the other side.

$20.00 tops.

Weber made a gray or greenish gray one , I use one on my uds now. I think 20 to 30 would be pushing it if its all there, and in good shape. The butterfly intakes can be bought for around 15.00 if it needs one, on amazon.

All of the old ones I see are gray- they were previously black but the color has faded over the decades. They did also have them in a gray color, but I'm pretty sure 90% of the gray ones on CL were originally black.

I am reasonably sure it has always been gray, but then again maybe not.

Basuraman, I contacted this guy about 3 or 4 months ago and he was not willing to deal below that same $50 trade value. I even offered $30 cash and he thought I was trying to rip him off. I think it is cool but since I didn't need it $50 dollars bad I chose to pass. Good luck I hope you are able to get it.....

Chad - I have some things that I do not want/need anymore. Maybe he will take them in trade. I have been wanting a kettle for a while.

when you look at it, look closely at the leg sockets. They can get weak where they are welded to the base after years of use.

I can't believe he hasn't gotten rid of that thing yet. I emailed him about that a month or 2 ago. Not a terrible price, but I wasn't going to drive 90 minutes to get it.
