the 2 bands one for the bottom and one for the top , is the bottom band suppose to be all the way down to the lip , and the top the the same up to the lip , cause I could get either to to do that ?

the black metal band that goes around the lid and the bottom , do you have to do anything special to get them to go up against the lip or they will not go that far ?

Did your dealer make you assemble your BGE?
FWIW: My local dealer told me that it is BGE policy to assemble before letting it out the door.

I did not buy this from a dealer , bought it from a guy that won it in a contest all new still in the boxes

Just wondering if you could tract down the dealer that donated the BGE in boxes?
Looks there are quite a few in your area.
